The Media Wonk has a great analysis of the memo Sony pictures co-chiefs sent out announcing massive layoffs. Overpriced DVDs, the pointless Blu-ray vs HD-DVD battle and other factors all converged. ‘Hitting the snooze button when the alarm goes off doesn’t mean that what happens in the meantime is beyond your control. It means you’re asleep.’
